The Foundation of Light

Welcome to our website. We would like to share with you a little bit about our organisation. We worked many years as an informal network of volunteers since 2009 in the field of educating the Turkish community around the UK. We have come to a point where we need more structural basis and formal ground to keep our activities intact. In 2016 December, we decided to start The Foundation of Light, Spirituality and Arts as a non-profit organisation as an organic continuation of our volunteer activities.

We now work in many fields such as educating people, doing outreach activities within wider society, school visits, informative exhibitions, seminars, lectures, residential and non-residential workshops, courses and most importantly weekly regular study circles in various cities in the United Kingdom.

We aim to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing people from becoming socially excluded and relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society. We aim to advance the education on the history, culture and arts of Turkey, and advance orthodox Muslim faith and organise festivals and rituals. We make sure that these activities are of benefit to all regardless of their origins, cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, political views and the like. We are against all sorts of extremism and we are working to promote peace, mutual understanding and positive co-existence in our society.
